October’s Hot Button of the Month Contest Winner is…Joe Liotta from Joe Liotta Art & Design in Bayside, NY. Joe made this "Turkey" button for a children’s art workshop he held recently. Joe occasionally gives workshops at libraries and for other groups.

"This particular Thanksgiving button uses a turkey design with stick-on google eyes, yellow pipe-cleaners for legs, and construction-paper tail feathers," Joe said. "Everyone thinks they’re cute, and the HR people want to schedule more art and craft workshops!"

As the Hot Button of the Month winner, Joe received a $100 Badge-A-Minit gift certificate.

Woody Christine Jones of MouseWait in Marina del Rey, CA entered this button. MouseWait is an online community for Disney enthusiasts. The button, and other similar Disney-inspired buttons, are used to identify fellow MouseWait app users while at Disneyland. Each button is customized with a user's name. Christine has sold more than 1000 buttons to MouseWaiters around the world through her Etsy shop and Facebook pages.

AIGA Club at HCC Sarah Anne Cimaglio from the AIGA Club at HCC in Williamsport, MD, designed this button to promote the American Institute of Graphic Artists Club at her college. The Club helps aspiring graphic designers get critique, ideas and inspiration to them become better at what they do. Sarah noted that the buttons really helped spread the word and bring attention to the Club.

CAD to the Bone The cute play on words caught our attention to this button that was submitted by Stephanie Wurtz from Mid-West CAD, Inc. in Lees Summit, MO. Stephanie notes that "Buttons are a fun giveaway for our students who take training with us. We put a bunch of different buttons on the instructor's table and they are all gone by the end of class."

Okee Dokee Folks John Fuzek of Motif Magazine in Harmony, RI, designed this button using the tagline for the column he writes for a local arts and entertainment magazine. John did it as a "souvenir of the Motif Magazine awards celebration and to promote my column" but noted that "actually, I wound up making buttons for two organizations because of it...and people keep asking me to make more."

Annie Penni Ebina from Riverside Children's Theatre in Riverside, CA, used this button to help promote the theatre's musical production of Annie. Buttons were also provided free to groups of 10 or more instead of a discount.
