July 2011 Hot Button Winners

July 2011 Hot Button Winners

Congrats to our
July 2011 Hot Button of the Month Winner!

July’s Hot Button of the Month Contest Winner is…Tiffani Scott from Baltimore, MD.. Tiffani made this "Proud Army Dad" button for a customer who was trying to figure out a good Father's Day present. Tiffani remembered that the customer's dad served in the military and 3 of his 6 kids were either in the military or married to someone in the military. "And POOF, just like that I pictured this design, and with just a few clicks I brought it to life and assembled it all within 30 minutes of her calling!" Tiffani said.

Later that evening, the customer called to say her father was a little choked up when he opened the box and said the gift was perfect!

As the Hot Button of the Month winner, Tiffani received a $100 Badge-A-Minit gift certificate.

My First Haircut

Here's a unique use for a button! Kimberly Leakey of Larned, KS, made this button to show how you can use a small amount of hair to make commemorative and memorial buttons. "People were absolutely amazed that I could fit hair into a button. Many like the idea of displaying this type of piece instead of it becoming tucked away in a scrapbook," Kimberly said. She has a range of interested parties looking for commemorative buttons celebrating baby's first haircut, the first snip at a new salon, and even some memorial buttons reminiscent of the mourning broaches used in the past times.

Save the Rainforests - Don't Grow Bio Fuel

Ro SantiEsteban of Itapoa Rainforest Reserve in New York, NY, designed this button to promote rainforest awareness and the dangers of cutting down rainforests for bio fuel. The nonprofit organization distributes these to people who attend lectures about rainforests and to those making donations to the cause.

Big Bad Wolf

Kelly Angle of Covington, KY, made these Big Bad Wolf buttons for a third grade Halloween party. "I made the button with waterproof paint and colored pencils," Kelly said. "The illustration depicts the Big Bad Wolf dressed up as Red Riding Hood's granny." The buttons were a big hit with the kids and worked great as party favors!

Patriotism

Audrey Dugan of Engelwood, NJ, submitted this patriotic button that encourages us to Buy American. "The goal is to make people aware that the more they buy Made in USA, the more then help the US economy and the American people," Audrey said.
